Terms of Use.

1. Who can participate

The beta is free and intended for participants in the United States who are at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of legal adulthood where you live, your parent or legal guardian must review these terms and permit your participation.

Do not create an account or participate if you are under 13. Do not misrepresent your age. Parent permission does not create an exception to this beta’s minimum age. Accepting these terms confirms that you meet these requirements.

2. Accounts and characters

Keep your credentials private and provide accurate account information. Use an email address you control when email verification is required. Do not impersonate others, access another person’s account without permission, or use abusive character names. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

Character names, Pokémon, items, in-game money, rankings, and progress are game data. Kolo does not offer cash redemption or guarantee that this data will persist into future releases. Features and access may change during testing.

3. Multiplayer, saves, and trading

Do not manipulate saves or use modified clients, duplication exploits, bots, or other methods to falsify trades, interfere with players, or evade account and server controls. Authorized development and administrative testing are separate from ordinary play. Report bugs instead of exploiting them against other players.

Online play synchronizes game data with the server. Local and server progress may be reconciled when you reconnect. Let saving and synchronization finish before leaving a game or updating. Trades and region transfers may require recovery after an interruption; do not repeat an exchange to try to obtain duplicate items or Pokémon.

4. Chat and community rules

Where chat is enabled, Local messages are visible to nearby players in the supported map area and may appear above your character. Global messages are visible across the online service in the chat box. Chat is not private messaging.

Do not send harassment, hate speech, threats, scams, spam, malware, sexual exploitation or grooming, sexual content involving minors, or another person’s private information without permission. Do not solicit passwords, real-world addresses, or other sensitive information. Do not distribute unauthorized game files or links to them through Kolo.

Report misconduct to support@koloemulator.com. Include the character name, approximate time, and relevant details. Do not include passwords or unrelated private information. An optional profanity-display setting does not waive these rules.

We may investigate reports and restrict or suspend access for abuse, security concerns, or violations of these terms. Contact support if you believe a restriction was applied in error. Moderation and reporting features may differ between beta builds; email is the support channel described by these terms.

5. Your game files and third-party rights

You are responsible for having the rights or permissions needed to use the files you import and the content you submit. Importing a file does not transfer its ownership to Kolo or give you rights you did not already have. Owning a cartridge does not automatically authorize every download or redistribution.

Kolo does not supply base game ROMs, provide ROM download links, or include a game-download browser. Users import their own files. Versions 0.6.5 and later include the third-party Liquid Crystal 3.3.00512 IPS patch, which is applied locally to a supported user-supplied FireRed ROM. The patch is not a standalone playable ROM. Original hack credits are retained. Supported builds use the imported SoulSilver ROM as a source of follower artwork shown alongside other supported games; SoulSilver is not a playable region in Kolo. The imported ROM remains in app storage. Updated builds generate the follower artwork in memory; older beta builds may retain a generated artwork cache until updated.

Kolo is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, Game Freak, or Creatures. Pokémon and other third-party names, characters, artwork, and trademarks belong to their respective rights holders. Kolo does not claim ownership of them. This disclaimer is not a license from those rights holders.

Open-source components are governed by their own licenses. These terms do not restrict rights those licenses grant. Kolo distribution materials must provide applicable notices and access to corresponding source required by those licenses, including covered mGBA source and modifications.

You retain your rights in content you create. You allow Kolo to process and display that content as needed to provide the features you use, maintain the service, and address reports, as described in the Privacy Notice.

6. Unfinished software

Kolo is beta software. Bugs, service interruptions, incompatible updates, lost progress, and test-data resets are possible. Do not rely on a beta as your only copy of important game progress. Participation does not guarantee a feature, account, character, or save will carry over to a later release.

We may change, suspend, or end the beta. Where practical, we will give notice of planned resets or interruptions. To the extent permitted by law, the beta is provided “as is” and “as available,” without a promise of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.

7. Privacy and leaving

Read the Privacy Notice for the information used by accounts, multiplayer, saves, chat, and support. These terms do not authorize unrelated advertising or sale of personal information. You may stop using Kolo at any time and contact support to request access, correction, or deletion of your account information.

8. Changes and contact

We will publish revised terms here with an updated date and version. The applicable app flow may ask you to accept a new version before using affected features. We do not automatically record acceptance on behalf of existing accounts.
